Hee!

erratic_prophet | 29 January, 2006 17:28

I think this may be my new favorite blog. It's brilliant and insightful.

Really Mature

Last night, exiting McDonalds..

The Boy: "Guess what I smell?"

Me: "Your butt?"

Mom: "Hee!"

New Thanksgiving

erratic_prophet | 26 January, 2006 13:23

It's weird, but since mid-month I've been having the most awesome luck. Watch me jinx it all to hell now. Things have been going pretty well for me and I'm finally feeling like all of my hard work is starting to pay off. Normally, all of this feeling good crap would make me very paranoid. I'd constantly watch the skies, waiting for the anvil to drop. But I've decided to just enjoy it and not wait for the bad to start. That's so 2005, you know.

I've decided to, instead, celebrate this good feeling by listing all of the things that make me happy... (More)

Good Golly!

erratic_prophet | 22 January, 2006 13:46

I got a lovely email from Photobucket.com today warning me that I've exceeded my 2000 MBs of bandwidth for the month and that if I pass 2500 MBs, I'll have a really ugly blog for the rest of the month. That meant transferrring a whole lotta pictures around and hoping that'll ease the burden. I know some images aren't showing up properly yet. I'm surfing the technical difficulties wave.

Boring? Bliss!

erratic_prophet | 21 January, 2006 09:22

I haven't written much lately because there really hasn't been much to write about. Things have been quiet. That's a good thing. I like quiet. I like boredom. I want to be so bored that my eyes continually roll back into my head. Ok, maybe not that bored..

Not that there haven't been any problems. There've been a few fights and snits and all, but everything else has been pretty darn good that it outweighs the bad. Sounds like it's....list time!

One Resolution Down..

erratic_prophet | 18 January, 2006 00:18

I've been keeping mum about this for a while. I finally broke down and told a few people. It's been killing me. But now the day has arrived and I can do my dance of joy because...

I got my department transfer!!!

That's right! Starting February, I'll be back in jewelry. Well, fine jewelry, anyway. And here is where I dance.

Best Of

erratic_prophet | 13 January, 2006 00:28

And finally, after many days of deliberation and date checking, here it is..

My Top Five-ish of '05 (So it's not 5! Sue me!)

Albums:

  1. M.I.A.- Arular: There's a reason it's on everyone's lists, it's that good.
  2. Eels- Blinking Lights and Other Revelations: I love my man E. He never disappoints. Heart breaking at times and always rocking.
  3. Louis XIV- The Best Little Secrets Are Kept: Raunchy, ribald glam rock at its best.
  4. Beck- Guero: His best album to date.
  5. Gorillaz- Demon Days: Even my kids-- yes, both of them!-- love this album and requested it many times.
  6. Sigur Ros- Takk...: The only word I can think of to describe this album is ethereal.
  7. Queens of the Stone Age- Lullabies to Paralyze: Just so you know, Josh Homme is my future ex-husband..
  8. 50 Foot Wave- Golden Ocean: Kristen Hersh can do no wrong.
  9. ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead- Worlds Apart: It's still as fresh as the day I first listened to it.
  10. Metric- Live It Out: Everyone needs a little Canadian Techno Pop in their lives.

Truer Words..

erratic_prophet | 11 January, 2006 15:20

The Girl: Running out of school today, "I had a great day today!"

Me: "That's great! What did you do?"

The Girl: "I did all of my work and the teacher didn't have to put up with me!"

Resolutions Revisited

erratic_prophet | 10 January, 2006 11:38

This is the time of year when we all take stock of our lives and what we have and haven't accomplished. Curse those blasted New Year's Resolutions! Especially those you post online. Here's mine from last year (with my notes from this year):

  • Don't attract anymore psychos. (Except for Snippy-- the ex-boss-- I think I did that well enough.)
  • Really. It's enough already. Stop it with the psychos. (I'm trying! Sheesh..)
  • Take State Board exam. (Done!)
  • Pass (hopefully) State Board exam. (And done!)
  • Maybe you should just avoid people in general. One of them might be a psycho. (Tried that, too. But avoiding doesn't work for those who like to chase. Maybe I should start wearing underwear outside my clothes and try growling and drooling occasionally.)

What I've Been Doing

erratic_prophet | 06 January, 2006 12:48

Because it's been so long since I've last posted, I thought it only fair if I tell you what I've been doing-- so busy!-- this past week or so that's kept me away from all of this posting. I'm sure that that sentence made more sense in my head... Anyway, onto the list! (More)
